Math in the Middle Institute Partnership

Empowering Middle-Level Mathematics Teachers


More than half of Nebraska’s population is located in rural areas and in towns of less than 25,000 people. The Math in the Middle Institute Partnership focuses attention on the challenges and opportunities faced by mathematics teachers who teach in a rural community. The priority that Math in the Middle gives to concerns of rural education will permit it to make a unique contribution to the needs of students in rural schools. To advance the rural agenda, Math in the Middle has hosted two Rural Education Workshops and is conducting research in rural settings.
