If teachers use district tuition credits, the 20% tuition discount is determined after credit is awarded for the district tuition credit; the tuition discount does not apply to online courses. To receive a fellowship, you must notify us of any district tuition credits you will use.

You may also be eligible for a forgivable loan for up to $3,000 per year from the Nebraska Department of Education's Enhancing Excellence in Teaching Program. Several conditions apply, including participation in a master's degree program. At the end of the third year of teaching in Nebraska after completing the graduate degree or graduate endorsement program, up to $1,500 will be forgiven each year until total award amount is forgiven. Unless the recipient is teaching in a in a low-income school or very sparse district as defined by NDE, then up to $1,500 of the loan balance is forgiven the first year and up to $3,000 each year of loan forgiveness thereafter until total award amount is forgiven. This loan can be received more than once. If you are not a Nebraska teacher, other states have comparable programs.
